My name is Richard Gashururu, a veterinarian from Rwanda. I work for the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Rwanda as an academic staff and researcher.  I am also a member of Africa One Health University Network (AFROHUN), Rwanda chapter as a faculty.

My name is Natalie Coca. My family immigrated from Bolivia, and I was raised in Burbank, California. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from UCLA. I’m currently a second-year medical student at UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, CA. My professional goal is to become a physician working in areas of global public health, with interests in evaluating environmental health disparities and improving health-care access. To supplement my medical education, I am involved with the Global Health Area of Scholarly Concentration as part of my curriculum.

My name is Celeste Snyder, and I am an Oakridge Institute for Science and Educations (ORISE) research fellow with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) National Animal Disease Center. I work as part of a team investigating dynamics of influenza A virus (IAV) at swine and human interfaces. As I have become involved in topics of zoonosis in agriculture, I had become interested in learning a fuller picture of the meaning of one health.

My name is Kimberly Aguirre. I’m originally from Calexico, a border-town in Southern California. I am set to start my first year of veterinary school this fall, and I plan to specialize in livestock medicine. My current interests are in public health, preventive veterinary medicine, disaster medicine/ response, and increasing veterinary care access in underserved communities.

My name is Julio Siliezar, I am originally from El Salvador and immigrated to the US when I was 15 years old. I originally moved to Los Angeles but a year after moving to the US I moved to the San Francisco bay area with my mom and brother. I lived in the bay area for 16 years until I moved to Sacramento. I am currently a second year medical student at UC Davis School of Medicine and will be graduating from medical school in 2025.

He, my name is Angelique Ingabire, I am from Rwanda. My background is in agriculture-animal science and I hold a master's in One Health with a focus on Integrated Management of Health Risks in the Global South. Currently, I work in the public health research space.

I've wanted for a while to attend the Rx One Health program, but COVID-19 won't let it until June, 2022. I believed that taking this course would help me advance professionally as a biomedical researcher. When I read the course materials and syllabus on the Rx One Health Institute website, I thought that the course covered most of the things I wanted to learn. Honestly, one of the wonderful news at the start of 2022 was my scholarship and successful selection for this course.
